Healing culture wants you to believe that if you’re serious, you’ll be “doing the work” forever. In this episode, we’re calling that out and replacing it with the more liberating truth: healing is meant to end, and you’re allowed to be done. Learn why upholding the identity of “someone on a healing journey” can keep you from ever arriving as “someone who is healed”. You’ll learn the exact difference between managing your issues and achieving true resolution, so you can stop waking up to fix yourself and finally allow your nervous system to reclaim total coherence.
When you wake up scanning for the next thing to heal, your brain automatically registers stress and predicts danger. That anticipation can train your nervous system to stay on alert, so even your progress starts feeling like proof that there’s more to heal. We also define what “done” is: freedom, wholeness, and wellbeing as integrated lived states, not a mood you have to manufacture every morning.
We unpack subconscious identity and what it actually feels like when regulation becomes your baseline. Stress still happens, life still happens, but your system stops inflating every wave into a crisis. You’ll hear how fear-driven practices keep you vigilant, how love-driven practices change your physiology, and why claiming “I am healed” is not a certificate someone can grant you because it’s a sovereign choice you make when stability is real.
If you’ve spent years on a healing journey believing there’s always another “block” to get past or test to pass, exhausted of daily protocols, managing triggers, and searching for the root cause of every passing emotion, this episodes gives you the structural framework to step out of constant repair mode and claim resolution.

Healing is supposed to end. The belief that healing is a lifelong practice is the exact thing keeping you from being done with healing. And let that be the best news that you hear today because it’s true. You can’t define yourself as someone on a healing journey and be healed. So if you’ve been thinking there’s got to be another layer, another quote unquote block to heal, I just haven’t found the root of the root yet. I have to keep going or all progress is lost. I feel you, friend. I was on a healing journey for 15 years. Every layer, every deep dive, all corners, all parts of myself were invited and invested. And this year, I have called it I am healed. Because I realized at one point, when does it end? It has to end. Otherwise, I spend the rest of my life healing instead of spending the rest of my life enjoying being free. I used to think and I used to say that healing is a lifelong practice. I bought into all that normalized struggle conditioning too. I spent years in that exact loop. One more thing to unpack, one more part of myself to love. And I was religious about my daily healing routine because I genuinely loved it. And it was so liberating and it felt so wonderful. Every day I was doing my Theta meditations in the bath, journaling twice a day, talking to my inner child, the whole spiel. And it was healing. That’s why I am healed. But this season I realized that if I keep engaging in healing, then when will I ever be healed? There’s a difference between expanding into freedom and limitlessness, which is where I am now, and healing to be free and to remember your limitlessness. You can’t straddle those identities. There’s going to come a day, a moment, when you have to consciously choose who you are. So you’ve been committed, you’ve gone deep. And what I’m going to tell you now that maybe no one else has yet is that when you reach total coherence, mind, body, soul coherence, and freedom and ease of regulation become your baseline, you do get to say, I am done. I am healed. But the healing industry just keeps telling you to keep going, right? Because the distortion that struggling is just a part of life is so pervasive that even people who try to help people stop struggling are trapped in that same struggle mentality. And social media carousels want to just sell you on the win, but they quietly reinforce the lie that healing never
Linda Villines
ends. I’m Linda Villines. Welcome to the Simple Source, where we go beyond surface-level self-help to show you how to actually heal so you can liberate your highest and source self. Because the truth is you’ve already healed more than you realize. And another truth, here’s one more, you’ve already healed. So I started telling myself that exact sentence over and over again last year after lifetimes of repressed and suppressed, very severe trauma surfaced. And I saw everything. I felt everything nonstop for days without sleep. It was very intense to say the least. And one of the ways that I healed myself from that in eight weeks completely was I reminded myself that I’ve already healed because time is nonlinear. The Linda Who Already Healed is not a future version of me. It is me. Same Linda, different temporal dimensions, but not a different Linda. So you may think that the reason your healing never finishes is because of how much you think you have left to heal. But your brain is a predictive and anticipation engine. So when you approach every morning believing that you are not yet healed and you’re actively seeking, and or you’re anxious about finding the next root cause or fixing yourself or getting quote unquote unblocked, your nervous system actually infers that an active threat is present and then maintains a baseline of constant alertness, which then just continues to trap you in survival mode. So by the end of this video, you’re gonna understand how to wake up every morning reinforcing resolution instead of the problem that you think that you are. And you’re gonna have permission that nobody in this space has yet to give you, which is their permission to be done.
Linda Villines
Now, if healing is meant to end, then what’s the finish line? How do we define done with resolution? Okay. Resolution is the word that this entire industry avoids because resolution means complete. And complete doesn’t renew sales, and healing is an industry, just like any other industry. There’s nothing wrong with that, but that is fact. So the definition of resolution is the act of resolving an action or a course of action, method, procedure, et cetera. And then also the state or the quality of being resolved. Now the definition of healing is the reclamation of freedom, wholeness, and well-being. I say that often, but people don’t actually know what healing is defined as. So now when you put those two things together, it’s pretty clear you’re done with healing when you have resolved the reclamation of your freedom, your wholeness, and your well-being, meaning you have achieved those states. I explain this in my book, Unconditional, You Are Perfect as You Are, but that is what healing is by definition. And if you don’t feel free, if you don’t feel whole and well, that’s not or, it’s and, then you aren’t healing. It’s just, it’s that simple. And it doesn’t need to be more complicated than that. The issue is people are not measuring their freedom, their wholeness, or their well-being. They’re measuring their anxiety, their lack, their scarcity, what they don’t yet have, how far behind they feel, their fears, the unknowns, if they’re regulated or dysregulated, how often they get triggered, what’s quote unquote blocking them. And if that’s what you’re measuring your healing against, then of course you remain in management mode. And of course you just keep coping. But coping is not resolution. Managing your triggers is not freedom. Understanding your patterns at a deeper level is not you waking up feeling whole and well in every single cell and layer of your being. Resolution means that the thing that you put into motion, the actions you invest in, gets finished, right? The healing journey is done, resolved. The wound stops needing tending. The patterns have stopped running your life in the background, and your nervous system doesn’t need you to box breathe every morning to regulate itself into homeostasis, or you immediately become dysregulated. So, what keeps resolution
Linda Villines
out of reach is you believe you need to be fixed. And so many people, even people with education, falsely say that you have to live with trauma, or you know, there’s a subconscious belief that you’ve suffered so much, it’s irreversible, that you’ve done too much wrong. You’re just a bad person. And so you dig deeper, you try harder, you keep going and you keep digging deeper. And that feels like progress because going deep, it feels like this badge of honor, right? I’ve been there, that feeling of, oh, well, you have not gone as deep as I have, friend. And you wear that like pride because you think you’re farther along than other people, when really there’s no hierarchy. That’s just your ego needing validation. And so you dig deeper because you’re proud. You dig deeper because you think you’re there’s still something wrong with you. But depth without resolution is just treading deep waters. That’s really all you’re doing. So when are you gonna get onto land and put your back on the warm sand and soak in the sun? That’s the question. You can descend for years, each layer feeling more profound than the last one without ever resolving anything. The digging feels like getting closer, but the digging is just what keeps you stuck on a healing journey that never ends. I spent 15 years on a healing journey. Each day of those 15 years was spent healing in some way. The first five years, I did not enjoy it. Nuh-uh, not at all. It sucked. You know, it was just like a second jaw, a thing that I had to do to just not feel like shit all the time. But then I got it. It clicked for me what healing actually is and requires. And then I loved it because it was freeing, because I was reclaiming my wholeness and my holistic well-being. And that was joyful. And then I became obsessed with it. Like I’ve like fell in love with it because I had fallen in love with myself. And healing was loving myself. That is what healing is if you’re doing it productively and truthfully. And because healing was joyful, I just kept doing it because it was freeing. And I kept going deeper and wider and darker and lighter. There was not one day in those 15 years where I did not think about my healing. Not one day. It became my identity, right? Linda who heals and who is healing. That’s what I did and who I was. And I did it well. I did it differently. I did it joyfully with so much love. So of course I loved who I was, that Linda who was healing. But I never gave myself an ending because it became who I was and what I did. And I didn’t question when I could say to myself, I can stop healing now. But this season, this month, I have. I did. After months of taking a break from my daily healing journey, which I had been religious about for many years, which I did a whole episode about actually, because I mean, it was just joyful. I loved my healing practice. And uh after months of taking a break, I just put my attention on my reclamation of my highest and sore
Linda Villines
self, which is very different. And what I realized and have now embodied is that freedom and wholeness and well-being are just my defaults and actually have been my defaults for a long time. My nervous system self-regulates as it is designed to do. So there’s no need to manage it. And what I’m reclaiming now isn’t more freedom, more wholeness, more well-being, right? That’s like, so, so seven years ago, I’m reclaiming my source self, my universe self, my infinite self, my self that has created all things and is all things. And I do that by expanding into the freedom I’ve already reclaimed, not by chasing something that’s already been integrated. And I made that choice this season because it is a choice when you are conscious to stop thinking I’m healing, right? And to live with the truth that I have already healed. Just like I reminded myself last year, and you have that choice too. So do you identify with the version of you who feels like a project that needs a lifetime to fix, or do you identify with the version of you who is already healed lifetimes? You’re either someone who is already free or someone who needs to be healed, right? You can’t simultaneously be free and then on a journey to reclaim your freedom. And you might be saying, sure, Linda, but there are so many layers. But see, that’s the trap, friend. There will always be layers. You are everything. And there will always be another layer, another dimension, because you are infinite. And existence is infinite. But your nervous system organizes itself around which of those identities you claim. And that’s a choice you make when you’re coherent enough to make that choice consciously and coherently. And yes, coherence is the key. I say that all the time. I bring up coherence all the time because it’s that fundamental to genuine, holistic, lasting healing, transformation, and reality creation. Because you can consciously claim one identity on the surface, right? Consciously. But underneath the surface, another identity is claiming something else. So let’s talk about that subterranean identity, because so many people don’t realize that’s actually the identity running their life, right? Not who you think you are on the surface, but who you think you are below conscious thought. So your subconscious runs roughly 90 to 95% of your daily experience. And it treats whatever identity is programmed at that level as primary, as the big boss. And your subconscious is designed to maintain that identity because that identity was shaped by your survival, your childhood, your strongest and repetitive conditioning, which means it has the strongest neural networking. So if your identity underneath says, well, I’m someone who needs to be healed because something is wrong with me. I’m a bad person, I’m a fuck up, I’m unlovable, I’m not good enough, I’m shameful, fill in the blank, then your system actively tries to prove that. So then that manifests as your mind-body system, like flagging ordinary bodily sensations as dangerous symptoms like anxiety. And it manifests, it manifests as you interpreting a passing mood shift as like a major setback or a failure, as enough discomfort to confirm that there is still something left to unpack or heal or fix. That’s how obedient your system is to your subconscious. And that is how you are designed. And I teach this in my source membership program so that my members have a real understanding of how their mind-body system works, because it’s not a defect. Like this is how you are designed. And it’s your nervous system following the instructions of the programming of your subconscious. And your physical body is downstream of your subconscious. So, of course, your body is just along for the ride. Now that means that when you identify as the one who needs to heal, then everything starts feeling and looking like proof that you need to keep healing. It becomes self-reinforcing. I believe I need to keep healing. And then my mind and my body, and thus my reality, present evidence that I need to keep healing because I believe that I need to keep healing, right? That’s the loop that you’re stuck in. And you’re not gonna resolve that, you’re not gonna break out of that cycle by going deeper into healing. You’re just gonna perpetuate the identity, and that identity shapes your felt and lived experiences, meaning your reality. Now, the other part of this is your subconscious is super, super sensitive to fear. It is the primary and oldest part of your brain and body. And that’s why if you haven’t engaged in real subconscious healing, then fear is likely a significant part of your decision making, your behaviors, your habits, your problems, your patterns, your identity, whether or not you’re conscious of that, that you’re being ruled by unacknowledged or unresolved and or suppressed fear. I also explain this in my book. And that fear has probably already shown up in this conversation, right? Even though what I’m saying is maybe exciting to you on one level, you’re also afraid that if you stop doing your daily practices or your healing routine or whatever, that you’re gonna regress, that you’re not gonna heal, that you’ll just stay the way that you are. But, friend, real physics actually reveals the opposite. So when a system reaches total coherence, loving that phrase again, that concept, so fundamental. When a system reaches total coherence, when all parts of that system are operating in optimal alignment, meaning no distortion, no conflict, then it undergoes a phase transition, right? It locks into what is called a new retractor state that holds its own shape without any external force maintaining it. For instance, water doesn’t need to practice being ice. When the conditions for ice become coherent, water is ice. Okay? Your nervous system operates on that exact principle. It knows how to be coherent. That’s how it naturally wants to operate and how it optimizes its own functions. If you’ve been doing the work but still feel stuck, like no matter how much healing, manifesting, or personal growth you invest in, or spiritual practices you try, something just isn’t clicking. You’re not alone and you’re not failing. The truth is, most teachings and approaches are outdated and only scratch the surface. My book, Unconditional, You Are Perfect as You Are, helps you understand exactly why things haven’t been clicking and how to resolve the root of why you’re struggling. Unconditional self-love isn’t just a nice idea if you truly want to be free. It’s the missing piece and the foundation for everything you desire. And you don’t have to do or figure everything out on your own. You deserve clear, comprehensive, and empowering step-by-step guidance in self-love, self-healing, and spiritual growth. The Source membership gives you daily support and transformative tools to actually start living your healthiest and happiest life today and every day. 100% of members who follow the program improve their mental, emotional, and physical health by over 50% in one year alone. if you’re ready to step out of perpetual repair mode and anchor into a baseline of freedom and wholeness and well-being, subscribe now because that’s what we do here. So let’s keep dismantling the distortions that keep you seeking so that you can live from resolution instead of fixing. Now, when you maintain that identity and practice of someone who is on a lifelong healing journey, you never truly become coherent because your systems can never reach optimization and alignment. Your conscious mind wants to be healed, right? Engages in action to heal, but your subconscious believes that something is wrong with you. Something needs to be fixed in you. So your conscious desire can’t ever really resolve. But when you do achieve total coherence, when your baseline is not forced regulation or performed freedom, right, through spiritual bypassing or partially reclaimed wholeness or well-being that’s just good enough, your baseline naturally changes. It naturally moves through that phase transition because you have become coherent and your mind-body system knows what to do because it’s designed to optimize itself when conditions are correct. I’m actually going to talk about phase transitions in another episode because it is so essential to understanding reality and no one talks about it in the healing space or explains it properly. But that baseline that you have to force every single morning isn’t a baseline yet, right? Because a baseline reached through resolution naturally maintains itself because it has phase shifted from water to ice. And if the conditions for ice are steady, then ice will just naturally continue to be ice. And that is the season that I am in, that I have graduated. And it’s been a pretty emotional transition because 15 years is a long fucking time to have an identity, but emotional in the best way because oh my God, I love that Linda so much. But she can rest now. She gets to be healed now instead of the one healing. And all of the deep dives, the shadow work, the daily theta meditations, the everything that I did that I dedicated myself to, they’re no longer practices, not because they’re no longer valuable, but because they’ve integrated. They’ve become autonomic conditions, responses. And trusting my body in the season, the healed season, the healed era, and recognizing the, oh shit, my body just did that release on its own has been this Linda’s new joy.
Linda Villines
Now, to be clear, being healed doesn’t mean that stressful or annoying shit never happens. I am human, right? I can I’m human and source. One does not negate the other in this body, in this life. And also what other people do and how other people behave is beyond my control. So what I can control is my reaction. That’s the I’m healed part. But being healed doesn’t mean that I’m always living in neutral mode with zero emotions or zero reactions, right? Anyone who tells you that being healed means nothing ever bothers you again is just selling manure and or spiritual bypassing. This is what being healed actually is something stressful registers a Stress, but my body doesn’t inflate it. My nervous system doesn’t go into panic or shutdown or trauma response. And then my system naturally handles it. That means the tension discharges on its own. For instance, my body will naturally, on its own, will just nudge me to move or shake, or I’ll just cry if the diffusion requires tears or the stress registers as irrelevant. And my shoulders just drop on their own. And that usually happens within minutes, without a protocol being summoned, without a practice being deployed later, without me supervising it, or without me going, well, I’m going to do that practice later in the day anyway. So I’ll just, you know, take it to that practice. Right. There used to be like a whole procedure, and now there’s just a wave that comes and goes while I move through my day, enjoying being healed, free, whole, and well. There’s no more, I need to email myself this activation and then later unpack it through my E to C harmonics method and then journal about it at the end of the day. Because I did that for years. I don’t need to do that anymore because it worked. And I allowed myself to integrate that. And now the return to regulation happens on its own in minutes. And that’s what I’ve realized this season. I just got so used to the identity of healing. And healing was so joyful for me. I loved it so much. It’s so liberating. And loving yourself feels incredible when it’s genuine, when it’s just a part of your nature now that I didn’t realize I didn’t need to do any of it anymore. For a long time, it had really just become a routine. It had really become my identity because I loved it so much. And because it’s I teach it and because, you know, I’m passionate about it. But the beautiful thing is I don’t need to do it anymore because it worked. It’s been integrated. And I get to feel peace and pride in that. Now, that doesn’t mean that I’ve abandoned self-care either. I mean, of course not. That’s a whole different thing. Self-care and healing are not the same thing. I mean, they’re cousins, but they’re not the same thing. And if I want to engage in a deep practice, I can still do it at any time. I haven’t turned my back on the whole thing. It’s just there’s no need for it. If I want to go into a deep practice to excavate something for curiosity’s sake, sure, why not? If I’m in an explorative mood, like I would love to do a dark retreat because there’s no such thing as darkness for me anymore. I can see over 25 different types of energy with my eyes open and closed, 24-7 without trying. And so there’s always light. There’s always light. There’s never any darkness for me. And so a dark retreat would be very fun and super fascinating, but I wouldn’t be doing it to heal. I’d be doing it to explore, to expand, to play. You know, someone asked me recently why I want to do ayahuasca when I’m already clairvoyant, clairsentient, clair audient, claircognizant. Basically, that means I already see, hear, and know shit multidimensionally. And I basically said something along the lines of, because there’s always more to see and feel and know and hear as an infinite being in an infinite universe. And I’m curious to remember everything that I am in order to love
Linda Villines
more. There’s a physical difference you can feel in your body between reaching for a meditation because you’re afraid of what happens if you don’t do it, and reaching for a meditation because going there brings you pleasure and joy. It’s the same practice, but there are very different signals and thus very different outcomes. One’s motivated by fear, the other is motivated by love. And that difference and motivation is measurable in your system. And again, my book and My Source Membership teach you to embody this difference because that difference is so crucial and people don’t understand that it really makes a massive difference in your healing experience, whether you’re motivated by fear or love. When you’re motivated by love, your whole allostatic load drops because you’re not operating in stress mode. So the cumulative wear and tear on your body reverses itself because it’s no longer anticipating threats all day. And also your default moon network gets to quiet down, right? That’s your brain’s self-referential narrator, that internal commentary that’s tracking how you’re doing, how healed you are, how far you have left to go. And when that narrator goes quiet, you experience something that you may not have felt for a long time, which is presence without an internal monitor. So you become truly present in your life without inner vigilance. And those two things alone, simple and small as they may seem, are actually when you can begin to determine if you’re becoming coherent enough to make that choice of who you are this season. Because nobody can hand you that. There’s no practitioner who’s going to sign a certificate. There’s no protocol that graduates you like session 100. Resolution is your healing completion that you claim. That’s not granted. So when you claim that from real stability, meaning true total coherence as a baseline, then that’s your baseline. All of us who embarked on a healing journey were told, we’re sold in some way or another that healing is lifelong, that it never ends, right? That if you’ve lived with trauma, that you’ll always live with that trauma. But those people were not speaking to you as their highest self, to your highest self. That’s what I’ve realized. Someone still subscribed to distortion, still attached to fear, was telling me something that someone who was still subscribed to distortion and attached to fear told them. But you always have a choice. You are sovereign right now and always. And when you reclaim your sovereignty along with your freedom, your wholeness, your well-being, you’re also going to realize that although healing is a part of your destiny in this human form, that destiny does have a destination. It does have an end. And the only thing keeping you from closure and resolution is the identity you’ve agreed to, consciously and subconsciously. The version of you who is healing and the version of you who has healed, they’re really not that far apart, friend. Because separation is an illusion. Distance is a facade of three-dimensional space-time. And that distance is only going to grow if you continue to believe that you have to earn your freedom and your wholeness and your well-being for the rest of your life, that you have to actively regulate and manage and track your triggers every day for the rest of your life, that
Linda Villines
your trauma is just going to be with you for the rest of your life. I have been traumatized in every way. I was born in a refugee camp while my parents were fleeing genocide. I was raped as a child more than once, sexually abused as a child, more than once, beaten by cast irons and shoved into an oven with the door closed, emotionally neglected every day for decades, mentally brutalized every day for decades, spiritually lost for decades. I didn’t hear I love you from someone that I actually cared about until I nearly graduated from high school. I never heard it from my parents until I was nearly 30. Had chronic conditions for decades. I watched my husband die of cancer when he was 39 after two years of watching his body decay. And that’s just some of it in this one life. In other lives, there was even more trauma, more horror, more tragedies that I survived, and then travesties that I caused. And last year I remembered all of it. I saw it, everything I did that I didn’t remember in this life for days straight without sleep. It was intense. And it hit me how much trauma has been a part of this life and so many other lives. And that was the culmination of like the deepest layer because I was ready for it. This is the severe trauma I was mentioning before because it was it was really traumatic to see and relive all of that for days straight without any sleep. You know, I couldn’t, I had to sleep with the lights on in my house. I couldn’t even sleep in my house. I had to sleep on the street and in the car in daylight for a while. It was really traumatic. But I healed in eight weeks because you know what I did? I know how to heal. That’s why I teach this. But I loved every single version of me in this life. I mean, I’ve done that many times over the past 15 years, but in every single life, every timeline, every horror, every unimaginable cruelty, I loved that version of me. We can heal from the terrible shit we did and the terrible shit that was done to us, from the most painful shit, from stuff we wouldn’t wish upon our greatest enemies. We can heal. And saying that does make me emotional because it’s love. I have seen and held and loved all of it, all of those Lindas, all of those lives. Felt all of that pain and suffering and terror and fear and heartbreak and darkness and loved it and chose to remember that none of it is who and what I truly am. I am source in this Linda body at this moment where my consciousness is at attention. That’s my identity. And as my source self, as source Linda, I already spent 15 years and lifetimes mastering healing. So claiming this season, this healed Linda, this era as I am healed has been the easiest choice that I have made in a very long time. Who are you this season? Let your highest self’s answer be the one that is loudest, that you listen to. Not the trauma response, not the conditioning of those who glorify struggle, but the truth in your field that resonates as love. Your mind, your body, your soul will know when that moment to claim has arrived. And trusting that that moment has not yet become coherent enough to be stable and true is also an act of sovereignty. You are your own healer because no one can heal you but you. No one can be in your body, make your choices for you, feel your feelings, think your thoughts, resolve your past, reprogram your subconscious for you. That means the only one who can cross the line from the one who is healing to the one who has healed is you. So choose a journey with a happy ending. That’s been your destiny all along.
